A Birthday Wish...and some sad news

First we want to wish Uncle Ryan a very Happy Birthday. We had so much fun celebrating with you on Saturday!! Lots of Hugs and Kisses to you!

....and some sad news. My Grandma Madeline passed away this morning very unexpectedly. I'm still a little numb from the news but as the hours go by the reality has begun to sink in. Grandma was a wonderful lady....how often we take for granted the little things our loved ones say and do for us. I've been reminising about some of those things that I will miss about Grandma. She was one of the best Bakers I've ever known whether it was her world famous (or just family famous) Raisin Bread, chocolate chip cookies or apple pie....you can bet she would have something sweet made for you on each visit!! The one dish she ALWAYS made for me was a Orange jello salad with Mandarian oranges & pineapple....at one time or another when I was younger I told her that was my favorite so each visit after that she had it made for me!!! Grandma always did this thing where when she first saw you she would pinch your cheeks and bite her tongue...it was somthing we grew to expect from her each visit....I can remember telling my children before our first visit with her what she was going to do...that will remain one of my sweetest memories seeing her interact with my children in only a way Grandma could!! Grandma always had a story for us...usually one we had heard several times before especially as her Alzheimer’s set in...but they are stories that I will carry on with me forever. I know she is off to a better place and she has joined Grandpa as our guardian angels but I wish that I could have her back for just one more moment to tell her Good-bye. Here are a couple of my favorite pictures of the babies with Grandma during our last visit a month ago.
